Categories of Visiting Researchers

Senior Visiting Researcher: Professors or associate professors (or equivalent) from any domestic or international institution or higher education institution, including those working as international faculty members at domestic higher education institutions.

Postdoctoral Visiting Researcher: Researchers with a minimum of a doctorate, proficiency in art, specialized training in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmacy degree from a Turkish Higher Education Council recognized domestic or international higher education institution, who do not hold the title of professor or associate professor.

Student Visiting Researcher: Individuals enrolled in a master's or doctoral (or equivalent) program at a domestic or international higher education institution recognized by YÖK (Council of Higher Education).

Required Documents for Application

1. Visiting Researcher Information Form (Appendix 6 in the Turkish version, Appendix 6 A in the English version)
2. Academic CV
3. List of publications (Not mandatory for student visiting researchers)
4. Study and research activity plan (Appendix 7 in the Turkish version, Appendix 7 A in the English version)
5. For senior visiting researchers, a document of professorship/associate professorship (or equivalent diploma) from their home university or a notarized version
6. For postdoctoral visiting researchers, a doctoral (or equivalent) diploma from their home university or a notarized version
7. For student visiting researchers, a student certificate and transcript from their home university or a notarized version
8. Language proficiency certificate required by the relevant department, exam result accepted by the relevant department, or a statement certified by the deanery, institute directorate, or equivalent unit at the applicant's institution
9. If available, acceptance letter from Hacettepe University or opinion from the relevant unit at Hacettepe University
10. Two reference letters
11. If available, financial support document
12. Declaration that if financial support is not provided, the applicant will cover their own expenses for travel, accommodation, living expenses, and education and research activities during their stay at the University (Appendix 3 in the Turkish version, Appendix 3 A in the English)
13. Declaration that the applicant will obtain health/travel insurance policies covering the visit period (Appendix 4 in the Turkish version, Appendix 4 A in the English version)
14. Document proving compliance with any specific application conditions determined by the relevant department where the applicant applied
15. Copy of ID card and passport
16. (If necessary) Commitment statement to apply for residence permit (Appendix 5 in the Turkish version, Appendix 5 A in the English version)
17. Patent and Intellectual Property Statement (Appendix 8 in the Turkish version, Appendix 8 A in the English version)

*Applications are only accepted from universities recognized by YÖK (Council of Higher Education in Turkey). If you have any questions regarding your university, please contact visitingresearcher@hacettepe.edu.tr for more information.

** The documents submitted during the application process must be prepared in Turkish or English. Documents in other languages will not be considered.

*** Applications for research lasting at least three months fall under the scope of the Visiting Researcher Program. Shorter-term research is conducted at the discretion of academic units.
